According to head-villager En. Ismail bin Muhamad, the river is under reclamation for maintenaning flood barrier project. The selected plank and wood in the water will be removed to the river bank.
In the same time, the cleansing project is also meant for kayak and river downstream activities project. Likewise, Sungai Madek is will be another land mark for tourist attraction in Kahang.
Other attraction will be fishing and camping activities.
